Join Us! Christopher A. Doherty Park Dedication Ceremony

On Friday, May 31, at 4 p.m., we'll celebrate the addition of a beautiful community greenspace in the heart of the Downtown Scranton Business District. Located at 400 Linden Street (on the corner of Wyoming Avenue), the park will be named in honor of former Mayor of the City of Scranton, Christopher A. Doherty, whose legacy includes restoring the City's park system.

As part of the celebration, Christopher Doherty and his wife, Donna Doherty, will be be named Honorary Co-Chairs of this year's Scranton City Pride program. Following a brief program, guests will enjoy beverages and musical entertainment by the Marko Marcinko Jazz Quartet.

Scranton Tomorrow developed the Christopher A. Doherty Park in collaboration with the City of Scranton and Lackawanna County. Partial funding for the project was provided by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development (PA DCED).
